JEBL accepts the following article types:

  • Editorial
  • Commentary
  • Managerial Insights
  • Case Study
  • Data Article
  • Review Article
  • Research Article

Authors should select the most appropriate article type when submitting their manuscript through the online system.

All manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system. Authors are required to upload two separate files: a Title Page and a Blinded Manuscript. The Title Page must include the manuscript title, full names of all authors, institutional affiliations, email addresses, corresponding author details, and, where applicable, acknowledgments, funding information, and conflict of interest disclosures. The Blinded Manuscript must not contain any identifying author information and should include the abstract, keywords, main text, tables, figures, and references to ensure a proper double-blind peer review process.

Submitted manuscripts should normally range from 3,500 to 12,000 words, excluding references, tables, and figures. Papers must be written in clear academic English and prepared in accordance with the journal template. The manuscript should be typed in Garamond, 12-point font, single-spaced, with 1-inch margins. The abstract should not exceed 250 words and must be followed by 4 to 6 keywords.

Authors are expected to ensure that their submissions meet the journal’s standards of originality and academic integrity. Each manuscript must include at least 15 scholarly references, formatted according to APA 7th edition. All in-text citations must correspond accurately to the reference list, and all references listed must be cited in the manuscript. To maintain publication quality, all submissions are screened using similarity-checking and AI-detection tools. The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20%, excluding references, and the maximum acceptable AI-generated content detection is also 20%. Manuscripts exceeding these thresholds may be desk-rejected prior to peer review. Authors are therefore strongly encouraged to review their work carefully for originality, appropriate citation, and academic writing quality before submission.

Tables, figures, and equations must be presented clearly and consistently. Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively, placed appropriately within the manuscript, and accompanied by concise titles and source notes where applicable. Equations must be editable and numbered consecutively. References must appear at the end of the manuscript and follow APA 7th edition style.

All submissions undergo an initial editorial assessment to determine their suitability for the journal. Manuscripts that pass this stage are typically sent to two independent reviewers under a double-blind peer review process. Reviewers are generally expected to complete their evaluations within 30 days, and the Editor retains full responsibility for the final publication decision.

The journal supports open-access dissemination and permits authors to archive pre-print, post-print, and publisher versions of their work in repositories and personal platforms, provided that proper citation to the published article is maintained. Articles published in JEBL are distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) License.
